Interview Wondersoft Studio

 

Can you introduce yourself and Wondersoft Studio?
I'm Florian, and I've worked as an Engine Programmer, Gameplayer and Producer. In 2023, Noé and I founded Wondersoft Studio.
We're based in Grenoble, in the heart of the Alps, and our aim is to create exciting independent games.
We like to say: create games that we love, alongside people we love, so that everyone can love them.

How did you hear about BigWhoop?
Via training with Abiding Bridge.

How would you rate the effort you had to put in to help BigWhoop with the market research?
Very little effort. We gave a short introduction to the game and provided the roughs for the videos, and then let the BigWhoop team take us through the process.

Were you satisfied with the work and support provided by BigWhoop?
Yes, the reports are very detailed and the support is regular.
I'm quite convinced of the method used by BigWhoop, and it's much more effective when it's done by professionals.
We had good contact with the BigWhoop team and it was easy to talk to them, especially Nathan and Antoine.

What did the market research actually do for you?
Our gameplay and our art direction weren't quite aligned with our audience, and it was quite complicated to know what direction to take.
Big Whoop's market research shed light on this issue. We have a better understanding of our audience and have been able to reorientate the game according to demand.

Is there anything BigWhoop can do better?
For us, the study highlighted the fact that the potential of our game was not yet being exploited, so we rotated certain elements of the game and saw improvements.
A ‘post’ version or a second iteration of the report with these new elements would therefore have been very favourable to us.

Would you recommend BigWhoop to other companies?
